10 April - 2 May
Waikato Embroiderers’ Guild has been meeting for more than 40 years and currently has a membership of around 100 embroiderers.
The work on display will have been completed by members over the last two years and covers a range of skill levels from beginners to advanced embroiderers.
The exhibition will feature a variety of embroidery techniques, both contemporary creative embroidery and traditional embroidery such as cross-stitch, blackwork, surface embroidery, casalguidi, canvas work, whitework, hardanger, and many more. There will be framed pieces, mats, cushions, boxes and much more. Visitors won’t be disappointed with the range of techniques to view and there will be a viewers’ choice section where you can pick your favourite(s); yes you can vote for more than one!
During the exhibition, members of the guild will be working on their embroidery for you to view and ask questions. It is always interesting to see how a piece has been developed, so do ask questions when you visit; members are always happy to share their passion, and hopefully inspire others.
